The Kreg Jig K3 Master System – Benchtop Base
The main component of the Kreg Jig K3 Master System is the Benchtop Base. For proper stability it should be secured to a workbench. Like all Kreg parts it is made of glass reinforced plastic so it can handel the wear and tear of daily shop use. The removable Drll Guide Block fits right into its set slot on the base.
Kreg has placed molded scale markings along each side of the base which
are the collar depth adjustment scales. These measurements help set the location of the drill for the thickness of the material being used. The other markings along the front section of the base are for showing where the screw will exit from the pocket hole. By following the instruction manual, the scales will show the proper setup for materials from ½" to 1 ½" thick. It is worth noting that all of the blue material that makes up the base components is 40% glass-filled nylon hard plastic. This makes these parts extremely durable and the glass nylon component makes them very resistant to scratching and abrasion.
the Benchtop Base features patent pending front side clamping that
places the clamp handle on the same side as you drill. There's no more reaching around the workpiece to clamp the material. If you're tired of having to clean up wood chips after a day of drilling pocket holes? The Benchtop Base also accepts a snap-on dust collection shroud that can be easily connected to a shop-vac for chip free drilling! We’ve also built-in more height adjustment into the drill guide block, allowing you to center a screw in materials from 1/2” to 1-1/2” thick in 1/8” increments.
